George has been sick for the last two days of tax season, so after he got home today (at a decent hour!), he sat on the couch and vegetated.
At one point, I looked over and he was staring at his bare feet propped up on the coffee table. He was closing one eye, then the other while studying his toes intently.
"What are you doing?"
"Well, the golf ball [on the floor across the room] is sitting on top of my big toe, so when I close one eye, it looks like an ice cream cone."
It's official. All his brains fell out by April 30th. Now we have to wait for them to regenerate.

Look to the right...
Just an FYI that I added my tweets to the right-side of the blog...in case you're wondering what all that text is doing over there.

The early bird gets the convert
The kids and I headed to V--- Park on Saturday morning after dropping George off for a marathon of tax returns at his office. It was very early for most people, so we essentially had the whole playground to ourselves. Just us, the maintenance guy, and a couple of cops. No worrying about losing the kids in the crowd, and I could make a fool of myself playing on the equipment.
But apparently the park is a hotbed of religious conversion at 8:00 am on Saturday morning. We were approached not once but TWICE by pairs of conservatively dressed young women wanting to tell me about their "bible study" group. OK...I know a Jehovah when I see one. Hello! No need to pull out The WatchTower.
Apparently the kids and I looked like we need a little religion between the monkey bars and the slides. Once I did the "thanks but we're good" response the Jehovahs took off on their way, and we were back to jumping, sliding, and generally causing havoc. You know...the normal things you're SUPPOSED to do at the park.

He's going to kill me for this when he's older
This is what it means to be two, and have a somewhat crazy mom. It is perfectly acceptable in our house to sit on the potty in the living room eating an ice cream cone. You know you'd do it too, if you could.

A good life lesson
And here's why you shouldn't judge people by outer appearances....

Susan Boyle appeared on Britain's Got Talent and has since become something of a sensation. I got the whole fan-damn-ily to watch this with me, it was so incredible.

Parenting dilemma #573
Q. What do you do when you kid sticks a chocolate chip up his nose?
A. Wait. It melts into easily wipeable chocolate snot.

Tall"er" for 60 minutes...
Last week I had my annual physical. Not usually a noteworthy experience, but this time was different for a few reasons.
1) My weight on the doctor's scale was lower than the weight on my home scale. Woohoo!
2) I had the best blood pressure ever! (120 over 60)
3) I grew an inch and a half.
Yes...according to the doctor's nurse, I am now 64 1/2 inches tall (5'4 1/2"). Considering that I've been 5'3" (ok...5' 2/3") since I've been about 13, this was quite a revelation to me. I did point this out to the nurse, that maybe her chart was a bit off. But, she just responded, "Well, you're 64 1/2 here." (This leaves me in some doubt about the first two items in my above list.)
On the plus side, I had a great BMI when the doctor came in to look at the chart. And, I could fantasize for just a little while that I actually was taller. What could I reach now in my kitchen cupboards? Mmmmmm...
But, when I got home, I whipped out the tape measure and sure enough, the extra inch and a half was gone. Sigh.
