Faith's first horseback riding lesson was at a stable near our town. She loved her first lesson, which included learning how to brush down the pony and put on the saddle.
Then Faith went out to the ring with her instructor, Amanda where she learned how to get on pony, hold the reins (which she already knew...she was happy to tell me), get the horse to "walk on", and stop..."whoa!" Texas was a little bit lazy, so Faith had to be pretty forceful with her walk ons. Then she got to turn the horse in a circle. Finally, she was able to ride the pony all on her own! She was so proud of herself!

Of course, as soon as the lesson was done, she informed me that she wanted to get her own horse. Grampa will be so proud. (And, no, Papa, this does not mean Faith will be getting racing lessons any time soon.)
