Today we attended the fall fair in town with F's old babysitter and her family. We went at about 10:30 and dragged the tired, hungry, sugar-high kids out of there at about 2:30. :)
When we got to the fair, the kids were fascinated by the many, many horses that were waiting to start the jumping competition. This fair is a big one for any and all horse lovers.
Next, it was the midway. We got all three kids "the bracelet"...unlimited rides all day long. Then, F and I hit the ferris wheel...her first time on one. She loved it! I on the other hand forgot how your stomach tends to drop on the way down. After that, the kids went on the Dragon Wagon, a roller coaster for kids. Then, the "race cars" and the twirling strawberries. F was absolutely fearless on the rides!
We hit the petting zoo, including baby chicks for the kids to hold, and then attended the kiddie carnival where we saw F's teacher! F got a small butterfly painted on her cheek, and hit all the games that provided some form of candy as a prize. Oh, and we got a nice blue balloon from the conservative party candidate for the riding. Her dad was so proud. :)
Oh...did I mention the junk food? We got french fries, ice cream cones, and cotton candy.
Then, more rides, and by that time we (i.e. the parents) were so tired we headed home.
Nothing like a fall fair...good thing it only happens once a year!
