I was tucking F into bed, on the eve of her first day of school, when she said, "Mummy, I want to tell you something."
"What is it?" I said.
"Mummy, I don't want to go to school."
"Why?"
"Because I'm afraid."
"Of what?"
"I'm afraid the teacher will yell at me."
So, we talked about how the teacher wouldn't yell at her because she has a really good teacher. We talked back and forth for quite awhile. Then she said, "Mummy, I want to go to sleep now." As in, "Mummy, enough already. You can stop talking now; I'm tired." Apparently the school angst is not as deep-seated as I first thought. :)
